- From a young age, Balakrishnan has enjoyed playing and watching sports. Whenever he could in secondary school, he would participate in competitions. However, after joining college, he has focused on other time consuming activities—learning english to remove any language barrier, focusing on educational opportunities at school—thus he hasn’t had as much time for sports.

Balakrishnan's Story

After seeing his parents struggle throughout his childhood, Balakrishnan wanted to pursue a Bachelor of Computer Application so that he could find a job and support his family immediately after college. Since a young age, Balakrishnan’s parents have been construction workers & the total monthly family income is currently 5000 rupees ($60 USD).

When the time came to go to college, Balakrishnan’s parents couldn’t afford to send him to pursue a BCA, especially since they were already supporting his older brother—who was still studying for a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT). That’s when Balakrishnan’s parents came to Payir, hoping for some support—so that Balakrishann could live out his dream.

A year later, Balakrishnan has finished his first year of BCA at Karpagam College, but needs your support to make sure he can continue his college career.
