Our Payir Pilot Program
The Payir & Propel Education Partnership
In June 2023, Propel Education launched its pilot program with Payir—a grassroot level organization in Perambalur, India that helps empower rural communities through holistic development. In 15+ years, Payir has raised $1.2MM+ for public infrastructure, improved 35k+ students' nutrition, and provided healthcare for 15k+ village people.

As the first of many partner organizations, Payir has shared 15 highly-achieving students in need of sponsorship. It takes $600 to support each of these students for a year. Below, you can find the stories of each of these students, along with the amount of $ contributed already.

Kamalraj
Kamalraj’s dream has always been to graduate college, but after his father vowed to not financially support his Bachelor of Commerce degree @ Bishop Heber College in Trichy, Kamalraj needs your help.

Gopiga R
After her father’s passing due to COVID, Gopiga’s mother has struggled to support her entire family—which includes her older brother, who’s physically handicapped and cannot speak. Gopiga is currently studying Bachelor of Computer Application at Jamal Mohammed College, where her goal is to support her mother and family once she graduates.

Parimala
With three daughters enrolled in higher education, and a monthly income of only 1000-3000 rupees ($12-36 USD), Parimala’s parents are struggling to financially support her final year of General Nursing at CSI Nursing College.

Balakrishnan
Balakrishnan’s parents cannot afford to send him to pursue his dream of studying BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application), because they are already supporting his older brother, who’s pursuing a DMLT (Diploma in Medical Lab Tech). Balakrishnan’s goal is to study BCA, so that he can find a job immediately after college & support his parents.
